ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture promotes natural healing and improves functions of the body. Inserting very thin, sterile needles at specific acupuncture points can influence the circulation of blood throughout the body. In fact, the discovery of blood circulation occurred in China 2,000 years before it was discovered in Europe. This medicine has stood the test of time. Unfortunately, acupuncture is very misunderstood in western culture. There is nothing mystical or magical about acupuncture.
Acupuncture was developed through observation, along with trial and error, over thousands of years. However, it does not work well with the Scientific Method, because each patient is seen as an individual. That makes it difficult to design legitimate studies around the effects of acupuncture using the Scientific Method. We cannot give everyone the same treatment and expect significant results. Due to that fact, our medical and scientific communities have been slow to accept acupuncture as a viable medicine.
Acupuncture is a great way to reestablish circulation and rebalance the different systems in the body. Our bodies have incredible healing power, and the goal of holistic medicine is to encourage these abilities. We will work to find the root of the problem, and not just mask the symptoms. At your appointment, we will discuss how this will apply to you specifically.

CUPPING
Cupping therapy involves the use of glass or plastic cups to create a vacuum on the skin. This suction is like inverse massage. By pulling the soft tissue into the cup, we can increase blood flow and decrease tension for an extended period of time.
BODY WORK
We use a unique system of bodywork in conjunction with other therapies, especially acupuncture. Manipulating the soft tissue with distal points needled can offer a profound change in tissue quality.
CHINESE HERBS
Chinese herbs have a long and valued tradition of treating the root cause of disease, with modern research continually reinforcing the knowledge that has been around for thousands of years. Herbs are prescribed based on the individual patient, not just the disease.
SAAT ALLERGY PROTOCOL
What is SAAT?
SAAT is a specialized form of auricular acupuncture that uses a single, precise needle placement to address an identified allergen. This method works by stimulating a specific point on the ear that corresponds to the body’s immune response. Over time, this stimulation encourages the immune system to down-regulate its reaction, providing long-term relief from allergy symptoms.
How SAAT Helps
SAAT is commonly used to reduce or eliminate reactions related to:
• Environmental allergies
• Food sensitivities
• Chemical sensitivities
• Inflammatory triggers
• Chronic issues linked to immune overactivation
SAAT for Alpha-Gal Syndrome
SAAT has become especially well-known for its success in helping individuals with Alpha-Gal Syndrome, a condition triggered by a tick bite that causes delayed allergic reactions to mammalian meat and products derived from mammals.
By using highly specific ear points, SAAT can help reset the body’s overreactive response to the Alpha-Gal molecule. Many Alpha-Gal patients report:
• Reduced food reactions
• Improved tolerance to previously reactive foods
• Decreased inflammation and digestive issues
• Overall improvement in quality of life
SAAT is one of the few natural therapies designed to directly address the immune hypersensitivity behind Alpha-Gal, making it a promising option for long-term relief.

PROACTIVE HEALTH PLAN
Our current healthcare system is based on reactive medicine that addresses symptoms based on illness or injury that has already developed. In other words, reactive medicine is meant to cure what is already sick.
Our goal at NWA Sports Acupuncture is to change that current model. We want our patients to be more aware of their lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and environment. We want to educate our patients on the impact of those factors on their health, and how to work toward optimal health.

Our Proactive Health Plan is a forward-thinking model for the future. So many people are paying unthinkable premiums for healthcare plans that they never use. We want to give people another option.
NWASA wants to be a more complete health solution for you. We want to be a part of your life, and the place you look to for your health. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
